For me, movement has been the key towards self love and supreme acceptance of myself.
Movement has been a part of my life for as long as I can remember. I started dancing at age 4 and danced through my school years, graduating from Rochester School of the Arts and obtaining a degree in dance from S.U.N.Y Brockport. I started my professional career in Las Vegas, where I quickly found success. I performed in several productions on the strip and with Beyonce’ at the Billboard Music Awards. For the next 10 years, I remained drawn to the glamour of Las Vegas and the allure of the showgirls, dancing and performing at well-known clubs. It was during this time as a showgirl and exotic dancer that I became confident in myself as a sensual being and mastered the art of seduction, which I now teach to women as a means of empowerment, self discovery and self-expression.
With all the competitiveness and body shaming in both the traditional dance world and the adult realm, it's taken me a lot of time to fully embrace my body and be compassionate to myself on my journey. I'm a work in progress, as we all are, I just hope to inspire women to start the journey towards self-love and supreme acceptance.
In 2015, I moved to Austin and used my 20 years of experience as both an entertainer and an instructor to found Lily Shepard Moves. I am in a constant state of gratitude for being able to share my love of using dance, introspection, and community as a means to empower.
